Ralph Robinson Obituary

Ralph Robinson was born May 11, 1945, and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He stepped out of time and into eternity on April 21, 2024. As a testimony of his life, his love, and his legacy, he leaves to cherish his wife, Peggy; children, Diarra Carter, Ayana Robinson, and Nakita Rice; grandchildren, DeDe, Imani, Alondra, Zac, Gabriel, and Genna; great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Ralph was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Robinson; his sisters, June and Joyce Robinson; his mother, Mildred Short; and stepfather, Eddie Short.

Ralph served in the army for three years, during which time he met and married the love of his life, Peggy Wright. They recently celebrated their 55th Wedding Anniversary. Ralph and Peggy then moved to Michigan, where he started working at Art Center Osteopathic Hospital in Detroit. He attended Marygrove College and worked for Ford Motor Company for 21 years until he became ill and had to retire for medical reasons.

Ralph became a member of the Carlysle Church of Christ in the 1980's and sang in a group while at Carlysle. He loved singing, attending jazz concerts, planting flowers every summer and watching sports. Boxing was his favorite. Ralph also enjoyed giving of his time and volunteered to head the soup kitchen, Toys for Tots and ran Narcotics Anonymous (NA) programs for over 35 years. He loved helping others and had many friends from all walks of life. Ralph later joined the Oakland Church of Christ where he was a faithful member until his passing. He always talked about the goodness of the Lord while encouraging people to come to Him.
